What is the Privacy Policy?

The Privacy Policy is a document that regulates our relationships with you as the owners of personal data in terms of collecting and processing the same. The Privacy Policy defines and prescribes the purpose of data collection, ways of their use, types of data we collect, how long we keep them, and the ways of informing about data processing. The purpose of this document is to enable you to control your rights regarding the collection and processing of personal data.

What does legal basis mean?

When we say there is a legal basis for collecting and processing your data, we mean:

  • collecting and processing personal data based on our legitimate interest, for which we do not have to have your prior consent, and
  • collecting and processing personal data based on consent you have given us.

Which relations does this Privacy Policy apply to?

Through our daily business, we enter into a large number of relationships, both with potential and/or existing clients, as well as with visitors to our website, business partners, suppliers, and our own employees.

For this reason, the following are the types of interactions to which this Privacy Policy applies:

  • if you visit our website, our social media profiles, interact with our ads and/or fill out the contact form on our website;
  • if you visit us in our office;
  • if you attend one of the events we organize;

What data do we collect and what do we do with it?

To optimize and create the best possible user experience, we collect data about our users, subscribers, clients, suppliers, collaborators, employees, and website visitors. The collected data is processed and used to better understand the relationships we are in and the needs of the people we interact with, regardless of which of these roles they are in.

During the interaction with you, we process various types of data, and the processing will depend on the type of interaction we have.

The data we collect includes both directly and indirectly shared information.

  • Directly shared information includes all personal data that you provide to us through filling out contact forms on the website and/or social networks, and through oral or written communication with our employees, applying for open positions, or any other way where you directly contact us and share your personal data.

Who has access to personal data and how long do we keep it?

Access to collected personal data is had by employees of Astarta Bit Ltd., our subcontractors, and suppliers if necessary.

We have concluded data processing agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.

The collected data is stored according to legal regulations depending on the purpose for which it was collected if we collect and process it based on legitimate interest. If we collect and process your data based on your consent, we keep them in accordance with your consent or until you request the deletion of your personal data.

Children’s privacy

Children, in accordance with the applicable regulations in Croatia, are considered all persons under the age of 16. We do not collect personal data from children without the consent of parents or guardians.

If a parent or guardian has questions related to our processing of their children’s personal data, the same rights apply as for adults.

Requests by judicial bodies

In certain cases, we are allowed to share your personal data without your knowledge or consent, such as in the following cases:

  • preventing or detecting crime;
  • arrest or prosecution of offenders;
  • assessment or collection of taxes or fees;
  • by court order or any law.

Your rights

At any time, without any negative consequences, you can:

  • withdraw your consent for any type of marketing communications and other processing;
  • request confirmation of processing (on the purpose of processing, source, category of personal data, recipients or categories of recipients to whom personal data may be or have been disclosed, and the location of such transfer, the envisaged period for which the personal data will be stored, the use of any automated decision-making and profiling);
  • inspect your personal data;
  • request correction or supplementation of personal data;
  • object to further or excessive processing of personal data;
  • block illegal processing of personal data;
  • request the deletion of your personal data;
  • request the transfer of personal data to another data controller.

We will consider each of your requests in accordance with all applicable positive legal regulations governing the protection of personal data. We reserve the right to charge for processing requests in those cases where such requests are unreasonable. We will respond to each request no later than 30 days from the date of receipt of the request.

 

The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

At any time, you can file a complaint about the processing of your personal data if you believe that we have violated Croatian or European data protection regulations with the competent supervisory authority, the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, or in case of change of applicable regulations, another body that will take over its jurisdiction, and from May 25, 2018, also with the supervisory authority within the EU.

Limitation of liability

Although we take available technical, organizational, and personnel measures to protect personal data from accidental or intentional misuse, destruction, loss, unauthorized change, or access, we cannot guarantee that some of the personal data we collect will never be accidentally disclosed, contrary to the provisions of these Privacy Rules.

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for damage caused to users or third parties by accidental disclosure of personal data.

Since we have no control over personal data that you provide when accessing or using other portals or directly to third parties (e.g., when participating in sponsored activities), to the greatest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for damage that may occur to you or third parties due to the provision of personal data.

Updating the Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy may change from time to time in accordance with changes in regulations and the development of our industry. We will not specifically inform our clients and visitors about these changes. Instead, we recommend that you check our pages from time to time to determine if there have been any changes to the Privacy Policy.
